ADIRONDACK SPORT FISHING INFORMATION
The Primary species found in the Northern Lake George area waters are:
Lake Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Smallmouth Bass, Pickerel, Yellow Perch,
Rock Bass, and Pumpkinseed. Other fish species found here are:
Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Black Crappie, Bullhead, and Rainbow
Trout. The varied habitats of the Northern Basin support excellent
populations of both cold and warm water fish. The average Lake Trout
caught runs about 20 to 21 inches . Lakers over 23 inches are frequently
hauled in. Trophy lakers over 20 pounds are available. Landlocked Salmon
are stocked and their grow rates are excellent. The average Salmon
caught is about 19 inches long. Six to seven pound catches are common.
The average Bass, either Large or Smallmouth, runs 13 to 15 inches and
weighs 2 1/2 pounds. Three to four pound Bass are frequently taken.
There is a good population of Northern Pike. They tend to be found in
weedy areas and weigh in the order of four to five pounds.
Adirondack fishing licenses, live bait and tackle are available at
several outlets in our area.

WELCOMES THE New York State Bass Federation Grand Slam Bass Tournament

Every year (since 1982) this entire community of "BASSTOWN", U.S.A."
sincerely welcomes the NEW YORK STATE BASS FEDERATION. The Federation
holds their Annual Opener Tournament, which is traditionally the first –
and largest -- in the waters of Hague on Lake George.
Over 200 Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) fishermen, from all
over New YorkState, participate in this popular fishing event. This Fall
Tournament one of several such B.A.S.S.Federation tournaments held
throughout the state over the Summer. The Tournament has many sponsors:
Warren County, the Towns of Hague and Ticonderoga, The Hague Volunteer
Fire Department, The Hague Fish and Game Club and members of the
Hague-on-Lake George Chamber of Commerce. Truly, the entire Community
works together to set up and coordinate many tasks to ensure successful
Adirondack sport fishing tournaments.
In keeping with the tenor of making the Adirondack Sport Fishing Tournament Weekend one in which
the entire Hague NY community can participate the Fire Department has
sponsored Steak Roasts and the Chamber of Commerce has sponsored special
dinners in the Hague Community Center.
Each year, and in the true spirit of their organization, the NYS BASS
FEDERATION promotes the 'Catch and Release Program'. Additionally, each
year B.A.S.S. members significantly contribute to and support our local
Beste Scholarship Fund.
